The Royal Navy provided short simply made muskets for the use of their sailors and Marines. This model, adopted in 1778, features the distinctive flat buttplate and 37 inch barrel that so easily differentiates them from the land patterns. Usefull for both shipboard and landing operations, this .75 calibre weapon continued in use throughout the Napoleonic Wars.
